Do I Really Need to Pay Attention to my Lease?

Is it really that important to look at the details of your lease? We find most people don't tend to actually read, or pay much attention to their lease before they sign. First, the lease is a legally binding contract. By signing the lease you are legally agreeing to all the terms written in the lease. The biggest issue we find is that people don't read the details of the lease, then when they are being held accountable for the regulations of the lease, they're upset. One of the biggest things being the requirement to give notice. We require 30 day notice, effective at the end of the month. That means, if you give notice in the middle of the month you would owe next months full rent. The 30 days, needs to end on the last day of the month. When it comes to giving notice, and tenants are told they're required to give the 30 days, they're upset that they will owe the next months rent, even though they legally agreed. This is why it is important to read through your lease. It houses many detail that you are required to abide by after signing.
